Salt Hill or Quay St. ??

We stayed at the Connaught hotel. The food was great and the pool/gym area was excellent. Other than that , I would not recommend as it was soooo noisy. I would pick Salt hill if I had a do over!

I stayed in Salthill, in a B&B about half a block from a bus stop. It was easy to get into Galway from there. It was quiet in the evening; in addition, I happened to be there on an unusually warm summer night, and I had a great time watching the local kids swimming at a public beach.

Not sure if you're comfortable with hostels, but if you are, Galway City Hostel is incredible. 10 Euros a night with great facilities right on Kennedy Square. Great staff and quiet at night.
