Safe walking in Dublin

We plan to attend Evensong at St Patricks Cathedral at 5:30, which is after the Red Bus Tour stops. It looks like about a 30 minute walk back to the DART station. Is the area around the Cathedral safe to walk in the early evening? Or should we hail a cab?

Assuming that you are going int he summer months it will be light out until 9:30 or even later... you should be fine
