After our flight to Ireland and a night in a Dublin airport hotel, we are setting out for Kinsale in a rented car. Should we go to Rock of Cashel or Powerscourt House and Gardens on the way. I would prefer to see both but not possible. Drive times appear to be close - about an hour more for Powerscourt I think. Many thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I think it depends on your interests. Are you interested in history or gardens? Also, will you be returning to Dublin before leaving Ireland? If so, you could consider taking a day trip to Powerscourt from Dublin. There are multiple tours that include it. Powerscourt is significantly closer to Dublin than Cashel.

As Trotter has pointed out, it all depends on whether you prefer gardens or history. You can't really compare the two. Do a google image search and sewe if that helps you decide.
