Road trip help

Hello all you lovely people. Having just completed an epic 3 week trip to Ireland, we are in the throes of planning another. Our basic plan involves:
Landing in Dublin around the 24th of July. Renting a car, heading up to the north to visit my family, take the Lough Foyle ferry over To Donegal for 3 days and then??, we want to be in Wexford by Aug 4 for the music festival for a week and then we'd like to see a little more in the area...maybe down to Cork or Dingle.
I'm looking for any and all suggestions. This will be our 5th trip there, we have already been to Connemara and toured a lot of Ring Of Kerry.
Anybody wanna jump in?

Thanks so much!

Depends just how far off the beaten path you're willing to go, but my suggestion would be to consider a day or two on the Beara peninsula ... just south of Kenmare. It's gorgeous, and it'll give you an idea of what the ROK and Dingle were like before they were overrun. Plus, the tour buses still don't go out there as far as I know so it's still a mellow and relaxed experience. Lots of great hiking, beautiful seascapes to enjoy, and even the chance to ride Ireland's only cable car over to Dursey Island. It's one of our particular favorites.
Time and interest permitting I'd also suggest Kinsale, Cobh, and maybe the scenic little village of Ardmore - another one of those off the beaten track little places.
That time of year is the height of the tourist crush, tho we've always found that an early start usually gets us out well ahead of the tour buses.
