Rick's 21 day Ireland itinerary

Looking at the proposed 21 day itinerary.

My question is about Day 7 Explore County Wexford and Cobh (sleep in Kinsale).

Don't you have to back track (staying in Waterford on Day 6) to visit Wexford County. Has anyone followed the proposed itinerary? (Sleep in Watertown on Day 6, visit Wexford county and drive to Cobh and Kinsale)

Thank you

Hello Claire.

Our 2020 Ireland tour just got cancelled so we are shopping for a replacement. Would you be so kind as to provide a link to the "proposed 21 day itinerary."

Thanks

The itinerary is described at https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/ireland/itinerary or on p. 20 of RS Ireland 2020. The day 7 exploration of County Wexford can just be a short loop trip heading east from Waterford. You would not need to backtrack along the same roads to do that loop, nor would you head to Cobh and Kinsale by the same road that you took from Cashel. You could visit Cashel after Waterford, instead, but I’m not sure it would change your total driving time. If you have the book or Rick’s planning map that highlights the sightseeing stops, that makes the plan more clear.
