Rick’s 14 day Ireland tour

can I combine the Ireland tour with a transatlantic ship crossing and then fly home to USA? How would be the easiest way to transfer from Southampton England to Dublin?

AerLingus operates direct flights between Southampton and Dublin.
Flying home from there on a one-way ticket is pretty straighforward.

Transatlantic crossings happen in two ways. First, Cunard does transatlantic on their ocean liners on a regular scheduled basis. These trips tend to the formal side with dress codes for dinner, etc. Second, cruise lines do repositioning cruises to Europe take place in the Spring. These often are less expensive and less formal but the timing is just a few months window.

Carol points out the alternative ways to cross the Atlantic by ship. But note that a repositioning cruise will take longer than Cunard's point-to-point service. We took a cruise from NYC to the Azores to several ports in Ireland, England, and France, ending in Southampton, as I recall it was about 12 days. Cunard would be much faster with no stops. So it depends on how much time you want to spend on the ocean part of the trip.
