Review of 2 Week Trip

We just returned from our second trip to Ireland and it was awesome as expected. Here is a brief review:
*LAX to Dublin non stop via Aer Lingus
*1 night in Dublin at Ashling Hotel ~ nice hotel near Guiness Storehouse. We had hoped to just go to Gravity Bar and have a pint but that is not an option anymore like it was 6 years ago. So be sure and book a tour!

*Rented a car and drove to Belfast. Stayed at Benedicts of Belfast which was disappointing ~ badly in need of refurbishment and wasn't as clean as you would hope your hotel room to be. Staff was lovely. Breakfast just ok. Loved the tour of City Hall ~ a beautiful building. Did a free walking tour around Belfast which was interesting and then we did the Conflicting Stories Taxi Tour which was sad but very informative (a must do I think). The next day we went to St George's Market which had lots of yummy food options then to Titanic Quarter and Museum which I highly recommend. Crown Liquor Saloon for a pint. Dinners at Ginger Bistro and Holohans (both excellent) and Coco's (good).

*Drove the Coastal Causeway north to Portrush (3 nights at Blackrock House B&B ~ lovely and highly recommend. Nicola was amazing). Absolutely beautiful drive with stops along the way -Carrickfergus Castle, Glenarm Castle and Gardens, Glenariff Forest. Following day Carrick A Rede Bridge (my husband did ~ I hate heights but loved the hike there), Giant's Causeway and Dunluce Castle. The castle had excellent exhibits about life in the 15th century. Excellent dinner at Tartine Arms in Bushmill. We also happened to be there during Salmon & Whiskey Festival in Bushmills so that was fun. Bushmills Tour of course!

*Next we drove to Galway (3 nights at Park House Hotel which was lovely and great location near Eyre Square) stopping in Sligo (we were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day) to have a seawood bath at Voya which was fabulous! Drinks and good music in Galway center at Taafes. Drove part of the Connemara Loop up to Cong and then around by Kylemore Abbey and back to Galway. Walked around the city alot, hopped on a hop on/hop off bus which is always a great way to see a city. Did a Galway Food Tour which was just ok.

*Final stop Dingle (3 nights at Pax House B&B ~ second time here and wouldn't stay anywhere else, it is magical) with a stop at Moran's on the Weir for the best meal of our trip! If you love oysters you must stop here. We did a Kingdom Falconry walk one morning (did the one at Ashford Castle last time) ~ was awesome. We walked around, did a Dingle Food tour which was very nice as we were the only guests. Drove part of the Dingle Loop to see the sheepdog demonstration which was very fun. Had excellent dinners at Land to Sea, Out of the Blue and Charthouse. Small Bridge Bar had awesome, foot stomping, sing along music!
*Flew out of Shannon which I highly recommend ~ so easy!
Happy to answer questions!

We actually upgraded to Business Class for the flight over since it was 10 hours so that was awesome. We used coach for the way back and it was good. The last time we flew roundtrip in economy and it was fine too.

We stayed at the Pax B & B for 3 nights as well in Dingle and while I agree the place is outstanding, it is not close enough to town. Had to get in our car and drive and then try to find parking. I think next time, being centrally located would work best for us.
Thank you for sharing your report, love 🇮🇪🇮🇪

Thanks for this run down. Sounds like it was great.

Aside from the rare nice day, how was the weather for you folks? I'm heading over in a week and well prepared for rain and cool temps (I live in New England and its currently 70 degrees so I am actually hoping for some real autumn weather).

The weather was lovely. 50-65 most days with a mix of sun, clouds, light rain. Fall colors were beautiful!
