We have reserved a car from Hertz at Shannon when we visit Ireland later this month. On the reservation confirmation from Hertz, several insurance options are listed. One is "Collision Damage Waiver" and one is called "Super Cover." I've written to Hetz to help me understand what these are, but I've had no response. Can anyone here help, please? Also, I've read here that people also recommend a "Roadside Assistance" insurance but that was not listed as an option by Hertz. Would that a third party kind of insurance?
This should explain Super Cover:

Before you opt in to any additional coverage, check your credit card company. A growing number of credit cards provide CDW and roadside assistance automatically when you book with their card.
^ ^ ^ Ireland has been an exception in the past to the credit card for insurance thing. Be very careful here. There have been numerous posts here on this topic, like this one just the other day-the last post there sums it up well:

Get all the insurance you can. You will almost certainly swipe something, and having peace of mind that you can walk away is worth every penny.
