Agree with the suggestion to use AutoEurope. And be prepared for sticker shock. Rental car prices are very high this year. If you are planning to drive into Northern Ireland be sure to read the fine print in the contract. Some companies charge for this. Also check carefully the fees for extra drivers if needed. It is usually a per day additional charge but I have found that AutoEurope frequently caps the number of days at a maximum of 10.

Just note that Auto Europe is a third party broker - they dont actually rent cars themselves. The car you get will be from an operator in the country. The advantage to using AE (which I've done) is that they are US-based.
