Family of 4 adults. Otherwise, might have to pay for extra day of the rental car, past the 7 day/1 week rental. Any advice welcome.

Here is what Shannon Airport says about nearby hotels. One is a two-minute walk, so no shuttle needed. The others don't indicate a shuttle, so check their sites.
