We're planning on 4 nights in Kilkenny in late August. 3 adults, 2-3 rooms. In researching different locales, I keep seeing Kilkenny perhaps surpassing Dublin for hen parties. It could be a hotel, B&B, or self catering, in or within 10 miles of Kilkenny. Not to sound boring, and I'm sure they're a lot of fun, but we'd like to avoid the hen party element when sleeping if at all possible. Any suggestions?
At the end of our Tauck Best of Ireland tour we stayed at Mount Juliet Hotel & Spa about 12 miles south of Kilkenny. It's a 5 star resort with a big range of accommodations and lots of activities - golf, horses, gym, spa, fishing, archery, falconry, etc. I had a lovely massage in the spa. Food was excellent. And since we were in the middle of a heat wave we were thrilled to have AC - not something to take for granted in Ireland.
I was there this past fall for a few nights and stayed at the Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel (1 Ormonde St.). I, too, like quiet and got a room in the back. I don't remember seeing any hen parties. They are usually only on weekends.

Short drive south of Kilkenny. Best B&B we've ever enjoyed. Mark and Anne Marie are gracious hosts; she'll prepare amazing, made-to-order breakfasts; the farm critters and pets are entertaining; and the property is beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kssaZ9VnrwY
Rates are reasonable. We stayed 3 nights in May 2018; my wife was crying a little when we departed.
We strayed at Mena House B&B two weeks ago. Katherine was a wonderful helpful host. Most rooms overlook her beautiful garden. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the town. Two pubs and a restaurant are a block or two away. I cannot imagine this place being noisy.
