Quick stop over in Dublin

I need to be in London for a workshop on the last Saturday in April and want a day for shopping in London on the Friday. I am thinking of flying from the States to Dublin earlier in the week so I can spend a day in the National museum. Then catching a quick flight over to London. My time to be overseas is very limited this trip - will leave for theStates again on the Monday after the workshop.

Am I being silly to stop over in Dublin? I was on the west coast last summer but never had a chance to get to Dublin and have listened to Rick's podcasts on all that is in the museum. I haven't been in Dublin in years and years. Have dual citizenship and would probably enjoy any visit there, even short - if I can organize it well.

Suggestions on where to stay if I do go, and best flight/airline for Dublin to London?

Thanks!
Judy

Do you mean the archaeology museum? It's excellent, and not to be missed if you are visiting Dublin, but I don't think it's worth a special trip just to visit the museum. I'd just go to London earlier and use the time there.

Judy,

Let me recommend Ariel House as the place to stay. It's ranked #5 of all hotels in Dublin on TripAdvisor, but priced like a regular hotel. The breakfasts are legendary and you can walk from the hotel's Ballsbridge location to downtown in about 20 minutes or so.

Have fun, you'll be glad to went back to Dublin.
