I have done a bit of research, but the answers I have received are confusing. Please suggest the best apps for public transportation in the Dublin area. Also please suggest an app besides the Uber app (I know Uber and Lyft don't work as they do in the US) to get a taxi. Thank you.
The city mapper app is especially helpful for public transport.
Free Now is a taxi app.
The Dublin Bus app looks useful for the local bus system, has a "journey planner" that tells you the route and time to get from points A to B. But I haven't been there yet so haven't used it. Aircoach, serving the airport, has a website that looks easy to use on a mobile device.
CityMapper, for sure.
FWIW, I never had any problems just raising my hand and hailing a taxi on the street or walking 1/2 block to the nearest taxi stand.
