Private shuttles vs taxis Dublin airport

Has anyone used a private shuttle service at Dublin airport? We have a group of 12 that are coming in at the same time and going to the same hotel downtown. Don't know if taxis or private shuttle service would be better.

Greetings from Ireland
Private shuttles are pretty cool, but the hassle of organising one might mitigate its value for money.
There are taxis right outside the door of Dublin airport. A taxi from the Airport to the door of your hotel will cost €25-30 for 4 people.
So if you get 3 taxis, all 12 people can get to the hotel for €90. I sincerely doubt you'll get a private shuttle for that.
Even if you have tons of luggage, the taxis will fit them in.

Hello,

Can you tell me how you made out at Dublin Airport. I am also travelling with a group of 12 and was wondering if you had any issues getting taxis at the airport for four people per car.

Thank you,
Colleen R.

I was there 3 weeks ago. Step outside and Cabs are lined up at the stand. I also saw vans were there. A fellow was directing what was need for each group. Cost to Hotel just north of the river was 25 going, and 21 coming back. Using a cab is SO much easier then messing with a shuttle. My opinion.

By the way, Belvedere Hotel has a nice music/dinner show. Not a bad price either. Think for 2 of us it was 85. Some of the performers had been in River Dance. To me, was much nicer and easier than the Music Pub Crawl.

We reserved a shuttle service but the driver didn't show up and couldn't get ahold of anyone. Good thing we didn't prepay! Our group of 16 got in 4 taxi's with no problem but everyone got charged a different price even though all were going to the same location.

30 Euro for three of us to/from Airport to Ballsbridge area. Absolutely no problem finding a taxi, (had the hotel order one for the return). Pleasant chat with the drivers. So much less drama than trying to navigate the mass transit or doing any pre-arrangement.

One of the highlights of our trip was meeting our Dublin taxi driver, Graham Mooney!! We got lucky when he picked us up at the airport. Such a delightful young man and a wonderful introduction to what would be a fabulous vacation in Ireland!!

THANK YOU everyone for your great advice. We will be arriving this Saturday and very happy to hear we are making the right choice in getting a taxi.
