Going to Ireland with 2 friends in October. We are not renting a car but are looking to go from Kilkenny to Galway. Any recommendations for a private driver for this trip and approximate cost? We are taking the train from Dublin to Kilkenny and from Galway back to Dublin but it looks like there is no direct train from Kilkenny to Galway.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but you can take the train with one change in Kildare for €16 each (bought in advance). Journey time 3hrs22mins (vs 2.5 hours plus in a hired car, which will cost much more than €48). If you have flexibility in your plans, you could add a stop between Kilkenny and Galway, maybe in Athlone.

Thanks for the responses! We moved some things around so that now we are going to Kilkenny for the day from Dublin. Seems like an easy train ride.
