Power Sources

I'm sure this has been addressed at some point but can someone recommend exactly what power sources are necessary/best for phone charging, hair dryer use, etc., in Ireland? Thank you!

What do you mean by power sources? You use the wall outlets in the room or bathroom. In Ireland, they will be 220/240v so you need to make sure that your equipment is rated for input voltage of 110-240v. Check in the input label on the device. You will need a plug adapter in order to use an Am style, two bladed plug. Leave the hair dryer home.

In addition to the power outlets in the room, note that if you have a flat screen TV in the room, it will probably have a USB port on the back. You can use this to (slowly) charge your phone or other device.

In England, the electrical outlets have switches. I don't know if they also do in Ireland, but if they do, make sure you turn on the switch (it's easy to forget, and in the morning your gadget remains uncharged).

Some of the older hotels in Ireland have switches for the outlets that must be turned on. Many of the newer (or newly remodeled) hotels and B&Bs have USB ports for your devices.
