I was hoping to avoid getting pounds in northern Ireland. It seems since Covid most places are going to touchless payment. Is that true in northern Ireland, or should I make sure I have pounds in hand?
I suppose it will depend on where you go and what you are doing, but I really don't think you are going to need cash. Contactless credit cards seem to be very much the preferred mode of payment.
As stated, it depends on where you go. On my current trip to Spain I’ve come across three cash only establishments, so there are probably some in Northern Ireland too.
