places to stay in Dublin for 2 nights

We will be arriving in Dublin in July and would like a moderately price hotel...seems prices have jumped since our planes to stay in Dublin before Covid......We originally were staying at the Clarence but I would prefer not to pay $250 a night ......please send recommendations if anyone has been there recently.......thanks Marie

We stayed at Buswells Hotel in October for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it.

Years ago we stayed at Albany House by St. Stephen’s Green and enjoyed it. No idea what it’s like now.

We stayed here at the Hilton Garden Inn Dublin Custom House.

It overlooks the river, has a stop from the airport bus right in front of it, and is a little removed from the night noise of downtown Dublin. The tram system is two blocks away and it is a short 10-15 minute walk to most sights in Dublin. The Emmigration museum is right next door.

My sister had stayed at Buswells before and found it to be quite a bit noisier than she liked. I realize everyone has their own preferences on this. This hotel was convenient for what we needed and we enjoyed our view over the river.

I have not been back to Dublin since the pandemic. But assuming things are essentially the same, staying north of the River Liffey will be less expensive but still within easy walking distance to things like Trinity College. If you look at Upper O'Connell Street near the GPO you will see a number of hotels, including a Holiday Inn Express, which may meet your needs. I have not stayed there but am familiar with the area. It is not as quaint and charming as the area around St. Stephen's Green but it is fine. If you want more atmospheric but a little further out, look at the Ballsbridge neighborhood. It's a longer walk - maybe 2-2.5 miles and on the bus line to the main attractions.
