Places to Stay? Honeymoon Mid September, West Ireland

Hi there! Been active a bit in the past here, but the trip is growing closer and we can't wait!
We've been doing some research on places to stay in Galway and Cork (flying in and out here). We will be renting a car so don't mind the drives. Preferably, we'd like to stick to bnbs, and some folks have had luck with airbnbs. Has anyone had good (or otherwise) experiences with accommodations? 2 adults.
We briefly entertained the idea of staying at Ashford Castle for a night, but opted for staying elsewhere and doing the Hawk Walk instead.
We're in our mid 20s, but prefer to stay away from crazy busy areas if we can for accommodations. Budget isn't too much of a problem if the place is worth it, though could save money in this aspect and spend more in another area like food or museums.
Thank you!

Have you thought about Ballynahinch Castle? It is set in its own private estate with woodland, lakes and rivers in the heart of Connemara - one of my favourite parts of County Galway. The outside and setting are stunning. It gets consistently good reviews on Trip Advisor. This is a place I'd love to stay!!!

It's about an hour's drive to Ashford Castle and a few minutes more to Galway . It's about 20 minutes drive to Clifden or Roundstone with access to the glorious stretches of coastline around that part of Connemara. Places the tourists have never heard of, let alone been to!

We just returned from a trip to Ireland and really enjoyed our stay at Corrib House Guest Accommodations and Tea Room (B&B) in Galway. It’s located right across the street from the Weir River and the view from our room was lovely. It’s walking distance to everything (train station, ferry dock, downtown) but quiet and residential. Parking is available. There are suites as well as rooms. Best of all is the breakfast— far and away the best breakfast we had on our 3 week trip! I am still fantasizing about the 2 breakfasts we had there. I think you may be able to view the menu on line. In addition to the breakfast they have incredible homemade baked goods.

This place isn’t for everyone— it’s an old house that had been refurbished and made into a B&B, so there aren’t tons of charging ports etc and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a lift. But it sounds like it might be worth a look, given what you said you’re looking for.
