Are there facilities where we can do our own laundry while in Ireland? We will be staying in Dun Laoghaire, Cashel, Dingle, Galway, and Howth.
The answer would be yes.
We had B&B's that let us use their washing machine, and others that at least let us use their clothesline for hanging out our hand-washed laundry. Watch for rain, however, as those clothes can get wet again while they hang! An advantage of renting an apartment or cottage with a washing machine is the ability to do laundry. A hotel might also provide options. Consider that time spent at a laundromat will take away from sightseeing and other activities.
In Dingle and Galway, Rick's book mentions services that will wash and dry a small load in a day for €10 or 14, respectively. In self-serve places, washing and drying usually adds up to €8-10.
we did drop off in two towns in 2013. the B&B told us where to go. you can just google laundry services and most towns we visited had places. do drop off and then go out and see the area and pick it up in the evening was great, just paid by the pound, about 12 euros for my wife and me
