Parking in Derry/Tower Museum

Have booked timed tickets for the Tower Museum. Hoping to explore the walls for an hour or so before our time slot. Looking for a suggestion on where to park easily.

The museum has responded they have no lot and some vague information that there are several spots nearby.

Can anyone offer some specific insight? Thanks in advance

If you open Google maps then plot the Tower Museum there is a button at the top (on a laptop) you can press to show you parking.

Three car parks show up within a 3 minute walking radius- Quayside, Victoria Market and one on Foyle Street [this latter apparently closed to end of next year] just behind the Bus Station. Click on each car park and it shows you the walking route to the Museum.

Then this is the Derry City Council page about car parks- location, size and what they charge- https://www.derrystrabane.com/services/car-parking-information/derry-city-area-car-parks

Quayside appears to be part of a shopping mall.

Someone on another very recent thread wrote that parking in Derry is difficult, and suggested arriving by bus or train.

I also always use Google maps to find car parks. If that doesn’t look promising (there are usually reviews that will give you a clue about how likely you are to find a space) then I turn to JustPark. This allows you to pay in advance for a parking space that might be on somebody’s driveway or in a privately owned car park. It’s really useful for places with limited parking options.

thank you! just park seems like it could be very handy. I use something similar locally to arrange in advance -- huge time saver.

appreciate the links as well. I missed that page on visitderry.com

I've seen very conflicting information about parking in derry -- dead easy to impossible. nothing in between.

I've parked at the mall, Quayside. It's been a few years ago, but it was easy to access and reasonably priced. It's just outside the walls.
