Does anybody know if this really is walkable to the airport departure terminal?

It is definitely walkable--just a short stroll across the parking lot.

Greetings from Ireland, I stayed there a few nights ago to take a 9am flight to Newark, and its literally a minutes walk from the front door of hotel to the front door of the terminal. Its got clean rooms, good service and the bar food is of a very high standard. The room cost me €99 without breakfast, very very handy.

Thank you Stephen! I have reserved a room for a 100 Euros (I am thinking American keyboards really should have a Euro symbol just like $-they no longer have a cents sign on the main keyboard). Our plan is to return the rental car, take their shuttle back to the airport,stay at the Park Inn and go back to the airport the next morning for our 9AM flight back to the USA. By the way, do I need to allow 3 hours prior to departure at the airport just like the US?

Yes, you need three hours prior to departure as you clear immigration in Shannon so when you get back to US, you don't have to do that.
