Park House Hotel or Harbor Hotel in Galway

We do have reservations at the Park House Hotel in Galway for this May. This will be our first visit, so I obviously don't have firsthand experience yet. However, I want to say, in case this helps, that good friends who have stayed at the Park House Hotel several times, have highly recommended this hotel to me.

My husband and I, both in our early 50's, stayed at the Park House in June 2025. We had a car and used the car park nearby. We booked a deluxe king room. It was very clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. I found our room very quiet to street noise. I did think that the hotel accommodated tour groups. There seemed to be lots of people waiting for tour guides or buses. It didn't pose a problem, just an observation. We had the breakfast every morning with a hot food option from the kitchen and the cold buffet options along the side. I think that our rooms matched the pictures on their website. I think it was a little dated looking in the decor and the guests skewed to be older - 65+. I did not eat dinner at the restaurant. I did have a drink in bar and we often took ours back to our room. I do not have any experience with the Harbor Hotel. I would consider staying at Park House again, but would also consider somewhere else just to try another accommodation. Hope this is helpful!

We stayed at the Park House Hotel 2 weeks ago, on the RS 14 day Ireland tour. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. Also quiet. Just a short walk to the pedestrian streets with pubs and restaurants.

We'll be staying 2 nights at Park House Hotel (2 rooms) in mid May, as part of our private tour, so the hotel was chosen for us by our tour operator. I'm excited to read the positive comments on this thread about it. Thank you.

We stayed at the Park House on a 2022 RS tour and I liked it. Big, atmospheric, large room, centrally located. But I have to basis to compare it to the Harbor Hotel.
