Packing suggestions for visiting Ireland in June.

Is it too cold for sandals? Are rain pants necessary? What is a good packing list for women?

The Dublin mean temperatures for June are 48 degrees F. lows and 64 degrees F. highs.

They get precipitation about 10 days out of the month of June.

I have been to Ireland most recently in April but have also visited in June/July. I've never needed (nor missed) rain pants. I am from the PNW and the weather is so similar to here that I only brought what I'd typically wear at home. I brought a light, waterproof rain jacket (definitely needed if even just as a windbreaker) and I brought one pair of sandals (Birkenstocks - not in April though!) which I wore maybe a quarter of the time.

I do have waterproof trousers but rarely wear them - too much of an effort putting them on and very often it has stopped raining by the time they are on! I always wear lightweight trousers that dry quickly if it rains. Jeans are terrible if they get wet - they take ages to dry and can chill you really quickly.
