Overnight parking in Kinsale

I have a room booked in the center of Kinsale for a Monday night this summer. I'll be arriving via rental car. My question is: how is street parking? Are there lots that won't cost an arm and a leg? Last thing I want is to arrive that evening (we plan on arriving around 8:00 pm) and not being able to park our car.

Thanks for any help from those with knowledge of the scene in Kinsale.

Thanks

Street parking can be hard to find. There is a large lot that is free and always had availability when we were there last week on New Road just beyond the SuperSave? grocery store. It is a quick walk down a gentle hill to the center of town.

Mona is right. This past May, we parked our rental car near the Super Saver overnight for free, no problems. (Be sure to park in the farther half of the lot.)

If you happen to find a parking space on the street, and it's after 6pm (I think), you can stay there overnight until 10am the next morning (I think). Anyway, check the hours for paid parking. If you're outside those hours you can park on the street for free. Just be sure to move the car by 10am.

Have fun!

The previous comments should read Super Valu car park not Super Saver. There is also a large car park in the centre of town across the street from the Centra Supermarket - parking if free here from 6pm to 10.30am - same appliles to the streets.

There is a large, free car park across the street from the St. Multose Church. We arrived around 6pm and had no trouble finding a spot in this lot. When we left the next day around 1pm, the lot was pretty full.

Just returned from Ireland and was in Kinsale. On street parking possible. Kilkenny also is parking challenged. While searching there near lovely bookstore cafe recommended , swore I was hallucinating a grey haired man with a day pack striding down the street purposefully looking like Rick. Did not accost him -- could not believe my eyes. Anyway, my parking was solved by kind neighbor of my air bnb rental who let me park behind her home next to her car in her parking area. Shared tea and recommendations, one mature senior to another. She thought traveling alone brave and I told her I would not have met her and experience her kindness otherwise. This is traveling friends! Barbara Hill
