Overnight accommodations in killarney? Galway?

Hello, the three of us will be in ireland for 9 nights. 3 nights in Dublin, then blasting to Cork for a night, then Killarney for two nights, then using Galway as a base for two nights, then head back to dublin before flying out to london. Seems hurried, I know, but... My request is for ideas for accomodations in Killarney and Galway. We want to be close enough to explore on foot, (especially after all the driving) but not have all the noise from the "nightlife". We hope to keep it under $250 a night, if possible. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

we loved the Lake Hotel in Killarney. It is as right next to the park. The views were gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Connaught in Galway and I would recommend to stay away from it!

Another vote for the Lake Hotel in Killarney but make sure you get a Lakeview Room.

We walked from there to Muckross House and Gardens and a ride back with a Jaunting car.
Great experience.

Killeen House in Killarney gets 5 stars on Trip Advisor. I haven’t stayed there yet, we will be this summer, but it looks great!

Hi - I’ve stayed in Galway twice now and I highly recommend Adare House. Beautiful and at the edge of a park. It’s quiet, reasonable, spacious, breakfast is wonderful and our hostess, Grainne, was friendly and helpful. We had about an eight to ten minute walk to the center of town. Lovely B&B
A couple years ago I stayed at the Almara House just a little ways outside the city. I was traveling by myself and relying on public transportation. The bus stopped right in front of the B&B, so I had no problem getting into town quickly, and I had the pleasure of talking with others also waiting for the bus. My hosts were warm and friendly and ready to help, making sure I knew which bus to take. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. I did have a droopy shower head that I fixed with one of my small bungee cords, but I’m sure that’s been fixed by now!

The three of us didn’t stay at Almara House this last time - my daughters wanted to stay closer to the city.

Are you committed to Killarney ? There are great spots nearby but the town itself is a tourist hell......it actually made Rick Steves top ten tourist traps in all of Europe.

"Killarney (Ireland): This is a place where most tourists wear nametags — a traffic jam of tour buses. If you have the misfortune to spend the night in Killarney, you’ll understand what I mean. The town is a sprawling line of green Holiday Inns and outlet malls littered with pushy shoppers looking for plastic shamrocks."

So true. There are much better nearby options that offer much more of real Ireland and easy access to the cool things that are near Killarney. Options like Kilorglin or especially Kenmare. Plus room rates are less outside the hyper tourist inflated prices in Killarney. Anyway something to research and consider.
