We are going to be in Dublin for a couple of days prior to starting the 14 Day Best of Ireland tour this month. I am looking for outdoor dinner recommendations in Dublin. Thanks for your input.
I’m bumping this up hoping you will get replies. We will be in Dublin in August and I would like to know where to dine outdoors as well.
I was there in May and ate dinner outside at Davy Byrnes Pub. They had a small but nice covered outdoor seating area with heat lamps. It was very comfortable even though it was pretty cold that evening and it even started raining a bit. There were also a few other restaurants on the side streets off of Grafton Street with outdoor seating.
We also had tea and dessert at Queen of Tarts on Cow’s Lane near the Dublin Castle. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. They had a fairly large outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. Cow’s Lane is pedestrian only, so it was very pleasant.
Thank you for posting this …we’ll be there in early September and hoping for nice weather for outdoor meals.
We are in Dublin now staying at the schoolhouse hotel. They have a restaurant/gastropub with outdoor seating that you can reserve. It's very nice.
The Woolen Mills, on the north side of the river, very near the half penny bridge, has outdoor patio seating and a roof deck. The location is good for people watching, food was good though not anything spectacular. The building was once a woolen mill where James Joyce once worked.
