We'd like to briefly visit Belfast on a Sunday in early September, flying from Edinburgh airport (EDI) to Belfast airport (BFS), taking a cab tour of the sites of Troubles, visiting the Titanic Quarter and Museum, and then taking a train or bus to a Dublin airport (DUB) hotel to overnight and catch a domestic flight Monday morning. We wonder about transfers (BFS to tour cab, then to Titanic, next to train/bus, and finally from whichever Dublin station to DUB airport); where to store luggage in Belfast (with Sunday access hours); which cab tour to take; and whether to train or bus to DUB and how to get tickets. All suggestions welcome.
A better choice is Belfast City Airport, as it's much closer in. You may be able to get your cab tour guide to pick you up there. I know a lot of folks have said their driver dropped them off at Titanic after the tour. Search this site for the different providers. A taxi from the airport into the city center shouldn't cost more than GBP20, but there is a bus, as well.
There are lockers at Titanic.
To get to Dublin Airport, take the bus if you intend to go immediately to your hotel for the night. The airport is north of the city, so you'd be backtracking if you took the train into town. Even if you just check in, drop bags and take a bus into Dublin for the evening, the bus from Belfast to DUB is the better choice.
It was an extra ten pounds for the drop at Titanic with paddy wagon. Very easy to arrange.
Thank you, both.
