one day left

Suggestions needed...I have one more day to fill before we head back to Dublin and fly home on Oct 28. We will be spending the night near Kilkenny and will have toured the castle etc. What should we do on the day of October 25? We'd prefer to head north from Kilkenny towards Dublin and we do not yet have accommodations. We like to shop small towns that are walkable. Are there any "must sees" between Kilkenny and Dublin? We did south on another trip and visited Rock of Cashel.

You can drive from Kilkenny to Dublin in a little less than 2 hours. Take the scenic route and make a stopover at Powerscourt Estate and explore it on October 25th. You have the option to stay in the charming little town of Enniskerry near the Estate. Spend a few days there before you depart for Dublin. Dublin is about 30 minutes from Powerscourt Garden Estates.

I'm confused. The OP asked about Kilkenny, but the reply refers to Killarney. Kilkenny and Killarney are more than 100 miles apart, aren't they?

Hi from Wisconsin,
Many people love Glendalough and St. Kevin's church. It has changed over the decades and now has parking for tour busses and their occupants. The city of Bray is an odd thing you might pass through intentionally. Kind of 1890 Ireland vacation land. You can skirt Dublin (which has many good places to visit) and get to the north of Dublin. The Boyne River Valley is beautiful and has the megalithic tombs, which also has its buss parking. Slane and Trim are along this Boyne River. A nice Irish drive. Drogheda has Saint Oliver's head on display. A very solemn place to visit, let me warn you.
