At the end of an 8 day tour, we’d like to take a one day trip to Belfast (Black taxi) and Giants Causeway. There seem to be several bus tours with early pick up in central Dublin and return late the same day. Any recommendation or advice? Reviews range from Excellent to broken down busses and awful. Mid September trip.

I think that trying to do both in the same day is going to leave you disappointed. Pick the one that is most important to you and focus on it.

That is going to be a very long day and not allow for long in either place. You are talking of about 8 hours plus just sitting in a coach from Dublin to visit both. It isover 500km drive.
Giant's Causeway needs to be seen at low tide when more of the stones are uncovered. At high tide it can be disappointing - especially as it is always very busy...

I can't help with recommendations for a tour company but I did the black cab tour last September and it was one of the highlights of our time on our Vagabond tour. We also did Giants Causeway which is equally memorable only in a different way. I would hate to miss either.

Thank you for your suggestions and recommendations. The bus tour does say it’s a long day - 7am pick up in Dublin and return about 8pm. I’ll have to give it more thought. Thanks!
