Ok, now what do you think of this?

SFO RT Dublin ( 15 nights) arrive at 11:45 rent car and drive one hour to:

Wicklow area 2 nights

Kinsale 2 nights

Sneem or near Kenmare or ? 4 nights

Dingle 4 nights

Aran Islands (Inish Mor) 2 nights

Drive back toward Dublin stay near airport 1 night and visit Newgrange

Fly home

We hope to have Irish experiences, slow pace, and as few tourists as we can, with still seeing great places.
Would you change anything?

Thank you for any more suggestions!

You received a lot of good information on your previous post so I won't belabor any of that.
My only thought here is that 4 nights in Dingle is probably one or two nights too many unless you just want to settle in and explore the peninsula in detail ... which isn't a bad idea. Better (IMO anyway) to take a day from Dingle and apply it to your stay near Dublin in order to give yourselves a full day to enjoy Newgrange, the Boyne Valley, and the Hill of Tara which are all close by. Most people seem to concentrate on Newgrange (which is great) and ignore the others which is a pity. Staying near the airport would allow you to get an early start for the visit to Newgrange, thus missing most of the tourist horde. Then, at your leisure you can explore the other attractions in the immediate area, and maybe have dinner in the pretty seaside suburb of Howth before returning to your hotel or B&B.

This is a great itinerary! If you haven’t bought your flight tickets yet, you could fly out of Shannon and eliminate the drive back to Dublin.

Thank you!

We would like to slow the trip down and enjoy by not rushing and hopefully get away from tourists, so that is why the two 4 night stays. But, then maybe in turn we are rushing more with the other stops? I like the idea of Howth!

We used miles and I maybe able to change with arriving in Shannon. But, the down side is we would have to get up early to head for the airport which may then have us start the trip already unrested. Also, car rentals look more expensive. It is kind of a toss up. Not sure why I didn't look closer at Shannon before I got the tickets! I saw great flights and just grabbed them :-)

If you decide to spend an extra night In Dublin, head to the archaeology museum. It has excellent information regarding Newgrange and the Boyne Valley. I found it really helped my understanding of the history and significance of the area.
