Northern Ireland town recommendation

Next summer we’re spending 10 days in Ireland. On day 3 we are staying in Belfast. Will do Titanic museum and Black Taxi tour. The following night we have 2 nights in Donegal. But on the way we want to do Giants Causway and I’m assuming there are other sights. I’m now thinking we should stay another night in Northern Ireland before going to Donegal.

So up north perhaps. Suggestions please? Not Derry.

We will be driving. Thank you

As to a town, we stayed in Portballintrae and found it close to the Causeway and to Bushmills. The hotel we stayed in was Bayview Hotel, Portballintrae N Ireland. This was a superb place to stay. We so enjoyed it, we modified our trip so that we could spend two more days there. It is on a bay overlooking the sea. The restaurant is excellent and the meals very good.

Mumbling and Stumbling beat me to it! Another huge shout out for Port Ballintrae and the Bayview Hotel. You won't regret it.

Thank you both. I will look into the Bayview Hotel!

I just looked they are not accepting reservations for June yet. Hopefully we’ll be able to modify our trip to stay there. I have to rebook my other town for the nights after.

After visiting the causeway, Carrick-a-Rede bridge, and taking the Bushmills tour, we spent the night in Portrush.

Last May we spent 3 nights in Belfast followed by one night in Portrush, two in Dunfanaghy, then on to Donegal. I was disappointed in Portrush as the center of town had been replaced with an amusement park and the seaside, where we stayed at a very nice B&B was mostly boarded up buildings. Dunfanaghy was very nice but Facebook misled us on the nights for trad music. Next trip to Belfast, we'll try Ballycastle and Cardonagh. I hope you're spending more than one night in Belfast!

We stayed at the Bushmills Inn in the town of Bushmills. Very close to Giants Causeway, Dunluce, and the carrick rope bridge. Also, can walk to the Bushmills distillery at the other end of town for an interesting tour. The Inn was nice. Would do it again.
