Northern Ireland and North of Ireland

Working out the details for a 10 day visit to the north in May. Traveling with my husband, we are both in our mid70s and need to take it easy. My plan is to stay in Belfast for 3 days and already have a hotel and car reservation. From there I’d like to go to the Antrim Coast for one night and then on to the Giants Causeway and Bushmills, possibly staying in Portrush, Portstewart, or Coleraine for a night.
Right now I’d like to go from there to Derry, again for a night (or two). Then Malin Head, taking the ferry from Buncrana to Rathmullan on the way back. Also interested in Fanad Head, perhaps staying in Dunfanaghy, ultimately getting to spend time in Donegal and see Slieve League.

I’m concerned about being overly ambitious. Some of the material I’ve read describes Donegal as being good for a one day drive, other things talk about 5 for the same places! We are not planning on extensive hiking. Would love feedback from folks who’ve been to some or all of these places. Thanks!

Two (or three) nights in Bushmills would allow you to visit the Antrim Coast/Glens and Giant's Causeway without changing accommodation.
For Slieve League, I really liked Killybegs. We did the boat tour out of the harbor and had the best fish and chips of our trip at the chippy run by Anderson's Seafood Restaurant. They were our AirBnB hosts, as well.
I don't think one day in Donegal is enough. Once you get out of Derry, the driving will be slower (and more scenic).
This is a great itinerary choice! Enjoy.

At Slieve League look for Sliabh Liag Boat Trips operated by Paddy Byrne. He's a fun guy (I've been following him on Facebook since we met him on his boat).

Donegal is wonderful and part of ireland most tourists don't get too - or else just do it as a day trip. They don't relise what they are missing!

Malin Head area is attractive (and don't miss Grianan of Aileach ring fort,) but the further west, the more scenic. You don't need to be into hiking to enjoy the scenery. Glenveagh National Park is lovely as well as the coastal areas.

@Wasley's, I think I saw the ring fort on a youtube video last night, but couldn't figure out how to spell it, so thank you. FYI, I think your link is broken, or its my server??

I’ve been to most of these places- this sounds like a nice plan to me. I agree with looking into Glenveagh National Park. You could also look at going for a day to Rathlin Island near the Causeway Coast. As mentioned driving in Donegal can be slow so leave yourself a lot of time. Good luck with your planning!
