NewWay Car Hire - trip report

We rented from NewWay for a week in September. They are a new company and there aren't many reviews out there, so I wanted to share our experience. The reason we chose them is because they have simplified the process by offering an all-inclusive rate which includes zero liability, zero deposit (except a fuel hold), tire and windscreen coverage, and 24-hr breakdown assistance. All for a competitive price. The pickup process was easy, no attempts to up-sell or change anything.
The NewWay desk is near the Budget and Avis desks and those folks will assist if the NewWay rep isn't there. The shuttle is not far outside the terminal doors, and the ride is fairly short. We reserved a small automatic, and that's exactly what we got. Aside from some minor scratches and scrapes on the side mirrors the car was fine, nothing fancy. We didn't have any problems with the car, so can't report on the 24-hr breakdown assistance. Since we were returning the car very early on departure day, they asked us to bring it to the terminal and park it any Budget or Avis spot, which was more convenient as we didn't have to shuttle from the off-site location. We put the keys in the designated box inside the terminal and went on our way. Received an email later that day with the check-in confirmation and nothing more was owed. It was pretty painless overall and having a no-hassle, no-surprises rental in Ireland gave us one less thing to worry about. Hopefully there are others who can also chime in with their experiences on this new company, but I would say that overall, it was easy, efficient and stress free.

Thanks for the info.

I just checked their rates for our Spring trip and my current reservations with Costco/Alamo are about 20% lower. It's hard to be exact because we get a second driver included and the car sizes don't map perfectly. It is worth something to avoid the sales counter push for extras, although as someone who wins those wrestling matches...
