Newgrange shuttle from Dublin? Doesn't exist anymore?

Hi all - I keep seeing things posted online about a shuttle from Dublin to Bru na Boinne / Newgrange but nothing within the last year. Can I assume it doesn't exist anymore?

I know everyone recommends the Mary Gibbons tour but it's a bit spenny for me, and the bus/train seems extremely time restrictive. So if there is a shuttle bus I'd rather do that but all the information about it seems to be old :( Seems a shame since it's such a popular place to visit!

Thanks all, any info much appreciated.

If you are not driving to Newgrange yourself, there are two options to get there: (1) by train from Dublin Connolly station to Drogheda—then a periodic public bus travels from the train station to the Newgrange visitor information center; and (2) booking with a tour group that offers transportation to the site.
You can also combine the train to Drogheda with a €30 taxi to Newgrange from the train station.

The bus #163 from Drogheda has been much enhanced from today, now every two hours, first from Drogheda at 9am, last back at 5pm

Sounds like you might not want to spend money on taxis, but if you plan well and get the express train (37 minutes) each way and taxis to and from the visitor center, it is not that time restrictive. We were able to spend an entire morning in Dublin and enjoy a late afternoon Newgrange tour all in one day. If you’re interested I wrote up our Newgrange experience on this forum about a month ago.
