Newcastle for my heritage, then republic of Ireland for beauty or vice versa

Would like to plan a trip to see where my grandmother lived on King Street in Newcastle. Then cross to the south and tour beauty of the republic of Ireland (and for my spouses family.)

How practical, what difficulties, annoyances will I encounter with spending 1 day in County Down, then the rest of my trip in the Republic of Ireland?

Not finding any tours that accommodate my desired itinerary.

Thanks

You won't have any trouble. There is no hard border anymore and no border checks. You do need to get the UK's ETA, unless you have taken advantage of your connection to Ireland by getting an Irish passport, which allows you to enter the UK without anything else. Have a great trip!
