New to Buying SIM Card at Dublin Airport

I am thinking about buying a SIM card for my unlocked, iPhone 13 at the Dublin airport. I have watched some online videos and think I can put it in a SIM card along with my current Sim (dual sim card slot). It looks like I can purchase it at the store called Spar at the airport.

I have no idea what company, GB amount, price I should look for? Any ideas? Would it be easier to purchase a card beforehand?

I'd definitely go with one of the major companies: Vodafone, 3, or ... I'm missing one... Any issues and you can walk into of their regular stores for help.

You can probably reference how much you use now on your carrier's website, but 10gig is often the minimum and should be more than enough. Expect to pay 15-20 euros for that.

Buying beforehand means buying from some unknown middleman. I've never done it.

Many pre-paid/pay-as-you-go plans in Europe now do not include outgoing text messages. Europeans don't use SMS much anymore—they're all on WhatApp. That means if you want to text back to the states, and use your US number/SIM for that, you could pay roaming charges. Or use WhatApp/Messenger for those communications.

Spar is a chain of convenience/small grocery stores. I think the one in the airport is on the lower level, and you'll see it after you pass through the customs channel.

Be sure to bring a paper clip with you and have it accessible, in case you need it.

The shop will usually install your SIM for you, but it’s good to have the proper “tool” available in case you need it. (Unbend it, and insert it into the teeny tiny so-small-it’s-hard-to-see hole on the side of your phone, firmly press down STRAIGHT to open the SIM compartment if needed).

I have used SIMs from the oddly-named “3” company a couple of times and found them convenient and reliable.

Ireland is magical and awesome. You will have a wonderful time.
