My Way Ireland tour

My friend and I are considering taking the My Way Ireland tour. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has done this tour. I have been to Ireland on my own (Dublin and Dingle) so I am familiar with some of the places that the regular tour would go.

If you did this tour, did you consult an outside travel company like Authentic Ireland or just plan your trip using Rick's book or Trip advisor? If so, what did you use?

I would like to go to the Aran Islands while on the west coast but should I also plan for Blasket Island? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, this is a brand new tour for 2027. So, no one has taken it yet.

I think it looks like a great tour.

I took the My Way Alpine tour last month and just used the book that Rick Steves will provide once you sign up for the tour.

The tour manager while on the tour will also be a great resource for planning your days.

My wife and I are signed up for this tour in April 2027. We've taken the RS 7 day, and the RS 12 day Ireland tours. Loved them both. For the My Way, we plan on the Aran Islands, and will also visit Athenry (because we love the song). And we'll enjoy re-visiting Dublin, because we liked it a lot. We don't want every day pre-planned out. On a previous trip we did pre-plan a Rabbies bus tour of Ring of Kerry, enjoyed that very much. We feel that getting us to Dingel and Galway, etc... will be enough. We'll find lots to do in Ireland, no problem.

We just spent 22 days in Bavaria (fly home tomorrow). Nothing pre-planned. Each morning we'd decide what to do. Sometimes weather would be a factor... Although we do have a large list of things to consider doing.

Really looking forward to Ireland My Way.

Sounds like a great experience. I would love to hear how the tour goes for you in April. Will you prebook tickets to sites for the Ireland tour? I am thinking of Newgrange and Aran Islands.
Thanks

Jacquie, yes, we will prebook the Aran Islands. Some things (like Kilmaniam Gaol or Book of Kells) need to be pre-booked. To be honest, we haven't done much pre-planning yet, but we will. One thing to pre-plan is to arrive a day or two early, and stay in the same hotel as the tour (or nearby). Same with the last hotel of the tour. RS tells the tour members what the first and last hotels are, so we can plan.

Thanks for the info on the Aran Islands. I just returned last week from the 8 day Scotland tour which was great and it was my fourth tour with the company. Hope you have a great trip in April and return from Bavaria safely.
