Music for the ride

Hello!

My fiance, father, and I will be visiting the UK in April through June. This is my first trip outside of the country, much less off the east coast of the U.S.! During the video for the Ring of Kerry (Just after leaving Kenmare), there's a song that plays in the episode that I really enjoy, but I have no idea what it is. Does anyone know, or could possibly guide me towards somewhere that has a list of the music for the show? Also, any other suggestions for music for the car ride?

Hi Matthew, post the link to the song and I'll know it. I could write forever on music suggestions for your road trip through my beloved Island. Rick has some good recommendations in his book. Personally I love listening to some energetic 1970's irish trad music by 'Plenty' and then some patriotic Irish rebel songs (of the milder variety) by the 'Wolfe Tones' though they tend to make me drive faster, so then to calm down again i have to switch over to some Enya! :)

Great, thanks very much! I became hooked on Clannad when I was a kid (My dad had me watch Robin of Sherwood, and I loved it). We saw them when they came to the states in North Carolina. Enya obviously is great as well.

There was a particular song in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G6VjJBitts that starts around the 20 second mark and I can't seem to find out the song name. I like very inspirational-sounding music, but also very traditional as well. When I was searching online, I came across "Sugach Samh" by Niamh Na Charra and "Brendan Keenan" by Brendan Keenan that I'm looking to purchase. I really enjoy Loreena McKennitt, "Yule" by Linn Barnes/Allison Hampton, U2, the Dubliners, etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Dont know the song in the video (love it though) but thought you might also like Phil Coulter... I was in a pub in Ireland and heard the most hauntingly beautiful song that I could not forget. I could not find out the title till after I got returned home, but after lots of research I found out it was called The Lonesome Boatman, and bought a CD that had it on by Phil Coulter. Have since become a huge fan of his.

Great, thanks Terry! I'll take a look and add that to the list. Just really excited for this trip!
