Muckross Gardens

I was wondering if it is possible to visit only the gardens of Muckross House? We don't have time to do the guided tour, and we are more interested in the gardens and exterior of the home. I can't find anything on their website or Rick Steves' book about admission to only the gardens. The website just references tickets for the house and the farm. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

Ooh I might be wrong, but I think the grounds (garden and lake) are open to the public, but a house tour requires admission.
