Mobile Passport Control Dublin

My inquiry is Regarding the Mobile Passport Control app (I recently became aware of this app, thus no experience using the app) I will be returning to Chicago from Dublin via Aer Lingus. I have been reading that US residents do passport and immigration processing in the Dublin Airport, not Chicago, is this correct? If this is still accurate information, then it appears the app would not be beneficial for this trip. The MPC website indicated it speeds up immigration control when arriving in American airports from international destinations. Has anyone used, or familiar with, the Mobile Passport Control app? I will down the app and required information if it is worthwhile for Dublin otherwise, it appears to be not applicable for Aer Lingus travelers to the US.

Yes, you will do passport control for the US in Dublin, then in Chicago, gate at a domestic terminal. The mobile app is only used at some airports, not all, but it is available for use in Dublin.

Whether it really saves you any time in Dublin really depends on how many US flights are slated for departure. I would agree the saving are probably less than using it in Chicago, but it might not hurt to try.

According to the website you can use MPC in Dublin. Even if they don't take it for some reason, e.g. last time in Newark they did not hav a lane open for it, no reason not to have it downloaded anyway for the future, service is free.

Nice to have. As Paul stated, whether it saves time depends on how many flights are arriving when yours is.

I have used Mobile Passport several times and love it! It's free and works just like Global Entry (which is $100). You do have to enter your info such as name and passport number and answer about 5 questions (typical questions when re-entering the country) within 4 hours of using the app. When I returned from Thailand, I filled all those out while the plane was taxing to the gate. It really works great. I plan to have it ready for when we leave Ireland at the end of our April trip.
