Medieval Mile in Kilkenny

We are planning a day trip to Kilkenny with our teenage children, is Medieval Mile worth checking out?

Last May we spent a few days in/around Kilkenny and visited the Medieval Mile Museum; didn't hit all the stops on the MM Walk. We found the Museum interesting, mostly because we waited for the 45-minuted guided tour. Without the benefit of the well-informed guide, I think we would have been disappointed. As I recall, the cost was modest.

As for the MM Walk stops, we did only the Rothe House. It was mildly interesting -- a self-guided tour -- but it's probably not something the teens would particularly enjoy. (The nearby ice-cream shop across the street, on the other hand, .......) We admired the castle from the outside but didn't take the time to go inside; that's us, mostly burned out on castles; in hindsight, I think we made a mistake. I believe it gets excellent reviews here on the Forum.

You didn't ask about dining, but near the MM Museum is the Left Bank Restaurant/Pub. https://www.leftbank.ie/ It's a repurposed bank building with several separate rooms. We had a nice lunch and thought the place was a hoot. It's an eyeful and, according to their website, has won several awards for design.
