I know Steves recommends the Medieval Banquet at Dunguaire Castle, but it is full the nights we will be in the area the first week of July. Has anyone had a recent experience at either Bunratty Castle banquet or Knappogue Castle banquet both run by the same Shannon Heritage group. Would appreciate hearing reviews for either. Thanks
I've been to Bunratty Castle a few times in the last two years and really enjoyed it. The castle is really neat inside and the performers were outstanding. The food was also good and fun.
Bunratty is part of a folk part and if it fits into your schedule, an hour or two at the park is relaxing and fun. When I was there they had the cutest Irish Wolfhounds!
Also, across the street from the castle is Blarney Woolen Mills which is a great group of shops that have everything you could want from Ireland, including a nice selection of waterford crystal and Genesis Bronze (plus they ship to the US).
