Maynooth, County Kildare

We're planning a large family trip in late May 2027 to the Maynooth area just west of Dublin in County Kildare. One challenge is that there might be 8 of us, including my mom who is 80 years old and healthy.

(We'll be spending the second week near Birmingham, England. We'd fly from O'Hare into Dublin for Week 1, then fly from Dublin to Birmingham for Week 2. It's almost like we'll need to plan two separate trips, so I'm posting the inverse of this in the England forum.)

Are there travel agencies in England/Ireland that can help with a trip like this? Are travel agencies in the U.S. capable of pulling a trip like this together?

We're thinking about renting a house, and there seem to be many nice ones available on various rental websites, but I've encountered some suspicious listings. We also are struggling with transportation logistics, etc. Would it make sense to rent both a van and a smaller car, considering all the luggage we'd be bringing, and that a few people in our group might break away and do their own thing for a few days?

Any recommendations, particularly regarding accommodations in the Maynooth area, would be very welcomed!

Not sure why you would need a travel agent to plan a 2-week self-drive trip with just two self-catering stays.
Re: transportation, two "regular" cars (not economy/compact) should accommodate your group if everyone can pack reasonably light. If someone insists on bringing large bags, they can pay for a third car. You don't want a van in Ireland if you can avoid it. Roads are narrow.
Re: accommodation, use a trusted site (booking or AirBnB/VRBO) and read the listing carefully, especially all the negative reviews. I have had no trouble with AirBnB in Ireland. In fact, I have stayed in some great ones.
I am not at all familiar with Maynooth. I assume you chose it for family history or an affiliation with the university or seminary there. Looks like there is a commuter train to take you into Dublin. Newgrange is about an hour's drive, as are Glendalough and Athlone, roughly.
