Hi,
Does anybody know if the Man of Aran B&B on Inishmore is still operating? I haven't been able to get a response to email and the phone doesn't answer.
Thanks,

Greetings from Ireland.
Ok so heres the story. I couldn't answer this one 100% by myself, so I opted to 'phone a friend' just like in "Who wants to be a millionaire".
My network around Ireland is unrivalled and extends thankfully to reliable sources on Inis Mor! :)
I just called Oliver on Inis Mor and asked, he said "No".
So its not open. And he doesnt think it will be this summer. But don't quote me on the last bit, thats just his opinion.
You probably know that the place is for sale?
At €350k, its a real bargain. Wouldnt it be a fun story if your enquiry to stay a night ended up in you buying it! If you need an partner/investor, you know where I lay my head (as they say in Derry).

Thanks very much for the information. I'm sorry it probably won't be available. What's the next best option on the island?
Oh, I am so glad I saw this post (and the replies)! I sent them an email earlier today inquiring about availability. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.
Thank you for the ad. I know someone that stayed there and as much as they enjoyed it was a long walk to the pubs. Maybe the new owners will have a golf cart shuttle for the pub goers.
Kilmurvey House B&B on Inis Mor is an exceptionally well-located and perfect place to stay.

Enjoy your stay on Inis Mor-- everything is walkable-- Dún Aonghasa (most famous fort), Dun Duchathair (fort with a dark past), Poll na bPeist (The Wormhole, or 'bathtub'). Love this place.
