We are flying into Dublin and going straight to the West Coast to Shannon area. Would like to stop somewhere along the way for lunch and sightseeing/walking. Any suggestions.
We enjoyed a stop at Irish National Stud, the Irish government-owned thoroughbred facility in Kildare, right off the M7. In addition to an interesting guided tour, there's a restaurant and beautiful gardens. https://irishnationalstud.ie/
For more info you might put "National Stud" into the Search box above, filter to Forum, and see what others have said. We aren't "horse people" and thought it was a nice break in our drive from the West Coast back to Dublin last year.
That sounds like a good option. Thank you for the suggestion.
