Looking for Driver/Tour Oct 2026 for 10 People

Hello -

Our group of 10 adults are in the stages of planning a 10-14 day (flexible) trip our first time trip to Ireland/Scotland. We are weighing our options of going with a customized tour just for our group versus arranging our own overnight stays and hiring a driver to take us to our requested spots daily. We are not interested in doing a group/bus tour with 30 other people.
(After driving in Portugal last year, no one is volunteering to be drivers this time!)

We are looking to begin in Dublin and tour the lower portion of Ireland before heading to Scotland for 4/5 days. We are interested in staying in each accommodation for a minimum of 2 nights. Our group loves the outdoors, local sights, as well as an afternoon at local pub.

Questions:
1. Recommendation on Private Drivers/Guides to bring our group with our own itinerary?

  1. Since we have limited time, we know we can't do it all, and are thinking: Dublin, Killarney, Rock of Cashel, Cliffs of Moher & Doolin, Kilkenny, Galway. Would love suggestions what should not be missed and can wait for the next trip to Ireland.

  2. Recommendations on Air-n-B homes with 5 bedrooms, or 4+ Star accommodations, castle accommodations we should consider.

The RS 7-day tour would take you to all but Killarney and Galway, either of which you could do by arriving a couple of days ahead and traveling by public transport. This is probably the most economical way for 10 people traveling together. Website says group size is 24-28.
Depending on what you want to see and do in Scotland, you could take the ferry from Belfast and then the train onward to Glasgow and Edinburgh. You wouldn't have time for much more.

FWIW, I have reserved a 6 bed all ensuite bathroom townhome in the Salthill area of Galway for our group of 5 couples for 4 nights. You should be able to find it via vrbo or booking.

There are several day trips you can take from Galway. Our set plans are to explore Galway on day one (walking tour, HoHo bus, etc>) and attend Trad on the Prom that evening. Day 2 is ferry to the Aran Island of Inishmore https://www.aranislandferries.com/day-tours/galway-city/cliffs-of-moher where we've booked a private pony/trap tour of the island https://www.aranponytrap.com/ For day 3 we've reserved a 16 pax vehicle through this company for a Cliffs of Moher tour: https://www.corporatecarsgalway.ie/private-tours/private-tours/ Other options are available which could allow you to extend your time in Galway.

IMHO the less changing accommodations the better. Having a base and planning day trips from that hub might work for your group.
