Looking for day tour companies in Dublin

My husband and I are going Edinburgh and Dublin from Oct. 2 to Oct. 15, 2015. Through the forums, I've found a tour operator in Edinburgh (we'll be staying with my husband's mother's cousin), but I would like one in Dublin that we can do day trips outside of the city. We're planning on arriving in Dublin either Oct. 8th or 9th, probably in the afternoon and will be flying back to the U.S. on Oct. 15th. Neither one of us wants to drive in Ireland but we would love to do a day trip to Dingle, if possible, and a day trip to Cork City/Cobh/Bandon. These are places that our families are from. Or any other suggested day tour locations through a tour operator, would be appreciated!

Hi Dawn,

I'm not that familiar with the day trips to Dingle and Cork, I don't know of any bus tours going there, but Railtours Ireland do have tours going there.

One is The Ring of Kerry day tour. And the other is Cork, Blarney Castle & Queenstown / Titanic / Lusitania. ( http://www.railtoursireland.com/ )

Other day tour companies are Dublin Sightseeing ( www.dublinsightseeing.ie ) , who have two day tours (The North Coast & Malahide Castle Tour, and the Glendalough & Powerscourt Gardens Tour ). These tours are only a short distance from Dublin, and not quite the same distance as Cork and Kerry, but great nonetheless.

Wild Rover Tours have three day tours ( http://www.wildrovertours.com/ ), going to Belfast and the Giants Causeway, Cliffs of Moher and Galway, and finally, Wicklow, Glendalough and Kilkenny ).

Hope that helps!

Thank you, Sean. That does help! I've been trying to figure out who to use and reading reviews on other travel websites has not been helpful. We will be staying at Trinity Lodge (which I chose based on Rick Steves' book "Ireland") so doing day trips works the best.

We did a tour to Neegramge and Hill of Tara with Mary Gibbons tours, found reviews online, all excellant so gave it a try. It was excellent, led by an archeologist, very informative but not dry!
The other we took that was so fun was" Rural Pub Tours" , it was great getting out into the country on a small group tour! Visiting some very old pubs( one even had a real peat fire going) , its not a booze tour, you get some histroy, see beautiful countryside ,and hear some traditional music!
