Looking for best tours out of Galway

I'll be in Galway for 3 days in a couple of weeks. No car.
I'm looking for a day tour or 2 to see the major sights outside of Galway. I don't think I'm too interested in the Burren, but others are all candidates. I like scenery, but also ruins, grand houses, and museums.

I've heard about Galway Tour Company, Paddywagon and Faherty's tours. Any opinions? I also like smallish tour groups but don't know if any are like that.
It's pretty difficult to do this out of tour books, because most of the sights are described as parts of driving tours.
Thanks.

Theresa,
I was just in Galway without a car and I was there 5 days as I wanted to explore Galway between tours. I was so happy to have found Michael Faherty and so enjoyed going to the Aran Islands with him. Colleen also is so knowledgable and she knows so much of all of Ireland. This is really a full day but one I personally enjoyed because of Michael.

Then I did Connemara with the Galway Tour Co which I enjoyed even with the rain.

I also used Galway Tours to see the Cliffs and the Burren. You can get to the cliffs by the local bus or go to Doolin by bus and hike to the Cliffs. If you are lucky to have sun, go to the Cliffs.

But don't miss Galway. It is such a wonderful place.

Enjoy,

Kathy

We were in Galway without a car for 2 nights and I highly recommend a tour of the Aran Islands. We used Faherty Tours and it was really good. Transportation from Galway to Aran Islands and same tour guide stayed with you on the Island. Ours was a smaller group and the bus on the island isn't huge so even if it was full wouldn't be alot.

Here is a big second vote for Faherty Tours. Michael was amazing and when we were on the return ferry ride back, he even called Colleen who works with him and she gave me a great guide for my stay in Dingle. It is a full day but it flew by.
