London to Derry/Londonderry

Hi there!

We're looking for suggestions on the best way to get from London to Derry/Londonderry. I'm having a difficult time finding flights to Derry airport. I read an article that said Ryanair has stopped their route from London to Derry. We're open to flying into Belfast or Dublin, however, we don't love the idea of a 3-hr bus ride from Dublin. How about Belfast? If we took a bus from Belfast Airport to Londonderry, would it be shorter? I had thought about the train, but someone mentioned the train service isn't that great in Northern Ireland?

We would prefer not to rent a car. So any suggestions on airlines that fly to Derry airport, or best (and possibly shortest routes) via other transport would be greatly appreciated!

I hadn't seen those BMI flights before...thanks for mentioning that!

And thanks for the info on the Airporter bus...90 mins isn't too bad if we went that route.

A pointer for future reference, how to find who flies to or from any airport.
Go to the Wikipedia article on the airport (in this case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Derry_Airport ). This almost always has a list of routes flown, usually up to date.

For "City of Derry Airport" the list is:

ASL Airlines Ireland Seasonal charter: Palma de Mallorca
BMI Regional London–Stansted
Ryanair Glasgow, Liverpool

In short, it is not a very busy airport!
